WHAT IS LASIK, LASER VISION CORRECTION?

LASIK is the most advanced laser vision correction technique available. It is certified and proven to correct low to relatively high amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.  A cool beam laser is used to reshape the cornea to achieve your ideal correction.  While LASIK may decrease or even eliminate your need for corrective eyewear for distant vision, you may still need reading glasses sometime later in life.

WHAT IS THE SUCCESS RATE OF LASIK?

98% of Dr. Wasserman's patients see 20/40 after LASIK. Over 96% of them have 20/20 vision or better, and will never need glasses for distance vision again.

IS LASIK SAFE?

Yes. The risk of serious complications is less than 1%. The most common complications are temporary and treatable. Dr. Wasserman will discuss these with you personally at your complimentary Qualifying Appointment.  In general the most common side effect experienced by patients is dryness in the eyes and fluctuating vision during the day.  Generally these subside within the first month.  Most other side effects experienced by LASIK patients are temporary and may include:  scratchiness, dryness, glare, light sensitivity, hazy or blurry vision, halos or starbursts around lights.

DOES LASIK HURT?

No. Anesthetic drops make the procedure virtually painless. After LASIK you will experience little or no post-operative discomfort other than a mild scratchy feeling.

HOW SOON AFTER MY LASIK WILL I BE ABLE TO SEE?

Dr. Barry Wasserman Your vision will recover rapidly-most patients drive to our office for their check up the next day. You can say goodbye to all-day, everyday use of glasses or contact lenses.
