Dr. Wasserman, who grew up in New Jersey, is an accomplished LASIK surgeon, pediatric ophthalmologist and educator. As a certified VISX Excimer Laser surgeon, he performs LASIK refractive surgery for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Dr Wasserman is a board certified ophthalmologist and the Medical Director of New Jersey Eye Laser Centers at Princeton.

As a fellowship trained pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Wasserman is a clinical instructor of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He is also a clinical assistant professor at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, teaching eye medicine and surgery at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Locally, he is an attending surgeon at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, and the Princeton Medical Center’s Outpatient Surgery Center.

Along with his expertise in LASIK surgery, Dr. Wasserman has an extensive background in pediatric eye surgery as well as the surgical correction of adult eye muscle disorders. In private practice since 1997, he is sought after for his expertise in the surgical correction of misaligned, wandering and crossed eyes in adults and children. Dr. Wasserman also performs eyelid plastic surgery and is expertly trained in the administration of BOTOX for the treatment of eyelid muscle spasms, Blepharospasm and facial wrinkles.

On January 9, 2009 Dr Wasserman spoke about Ocular Injuries for the meeting "Ophthalmology for the Pediatrician and Primary Care Physician": at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

In November 2008 at the annual meeting of the Academy of Ophthalmology held in Atlanta, GA, Dr. Wasserman presented a course, "What’s New and Important in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Cataract and Refractive Surgery."

In October 2008 Dr. Wasserman presented an accredited continuing education course for medical colleagues: "Hot Topics in LASIK Refractive Surgery."

In June 2008 he conducted a Grand Rounds Lecture: "Refractive Surgery for Children" at UMDNJ, Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ

In April 2008 Dr. Wasserman attended the annual meeting of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Washington, DC, and presented "What’s New and Important in Pediatric Ophthalmology."

In July 2007 Dr. Wasserman was an invited lecturer at the American Association of Certified Orthoptists held at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He spoke on Pediatrics and LASIK.

In April 2007 he presented Grand Rounds at Cooper University Hospital on the topic: Update on Pediatric Ophthalmology.

In February 2007 he spoke at St. Peter's University Hospital on Retinopathy of Prematurity for the Pediatrician and Primary Care Physician.

In January 2006 and January 2007 Dr. Wasserman has given a presentation at Wills Eye Hospital on the topic Retinopathy of Prematurity for the meeting: Ophthalmology for the Pediatrician and Primary Care Physician.

He has served as scientific reviewer for Archives of Ophthalmolgy, the Journal Ophthalmology, as well as The Journal of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Wasserman currently serves as a member of the education committee of AAPOS.

Dr. Wasserman was honored as Top Doc in New Jersey Life Magazine for Pediatric Ophthalmology.

Dr. Wasserman was a panelist at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Meeting in Washington, DC on April 18, 2005. Topics included Hyperopia, Conductive Keratoplasty and LASIK.

He also presented a paper “Intraocular Pressure and Pachymetry Measured Centrally and Peripherally in LASIK Patients” at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Meeting in Washington, DC April 15-20, 2005.

Dr. Wasserman published over ten scientific articles. His most recent publications have been accepted in Archives of Ophthalmology.
